Furnishing Your College Apartment
Once you’ve committed to college, you’ll need to start getting ready to pack and furnish your apartment. If you’ve never done so before, we’ve included a few tips to find furniture and other necessities for your unit.
Tips For Furnishing Your Apartment
When are leases due for college apartments?
The average lease for a college apartment will start in August and continue through May, though depending on how busy the area is you may need to apply for it in September of the previous year. If it’s a busy area with high demand, you may need to join a waiting list for an apartment.
Once you’ve gotten an idea of how long you’ll have to wait before you can move into your apartment, start looking around about a month or two before the lease would start. Make a list of your top three favorite apartments and don’t delay when the opportunity arises.
One of the advantages of applying for a college apartment from Ideal Rentals is that there is never an application fee. Our student houses and apartments offer safe, student only living, with on-site laundry facilities, 24 hour emergency maintenance, and most of our apartments offer free Wi-Fi.
Our professional staff keeps up regular maintenance on our student rentals, which means you don't have to worry about upkeep around the house. We do the mowing and weeding in the summer and gutter cleaning in the fall. We also take care of any minor or major repairs requested by the tenant.
